So, we’ve been talking about self-care and practicing it for the past ten days. How are you feeling? Is taking care of yourself getting any easier?
It’s okay if the verdict is still out on that one. Realigning our perspectives can be tough all the way around. So why am I still here, telling you to prioritize yourself daily?
Because it’s worth it. Because YOU are worth it, girl. Look at how far you’ve come in life. You’ve lived through hardships and pain and heartbreak, but you’re still reading through this blog right now. Part of you wants to care more for yourself because you know you’re worth it.
It is truly difficult to create time solely for yourself. Any spare time I have usually goes toward my son, my husband, our dogs, or my UNVEILED team. So much of my life is consumed by these things, but my life wouldn’t even be mine without ME. See what I mean?
If we don’t prioritize ourselves we’re not only letting our bodies and minds down, but we’re also affecting everyone around us. And I for one won’t let that happen. So I’ve made self-care a priority in my life.
Today, I want to encourage you to make time for yourself. It can be that extra hour in the morning. It can be an hour or two before bed each night. It can even be during your lunch hour at work. Either way, block off at least an hour to do whatever you want–meditate, read, cook, drink some tea. Whatever you do, keep this time sacred. Make it a “recurring event,” with an end date of never-in-a-million-years. Don’t cancel or postpone for anything or anyone, NO excuses.
