The Shibari Set is another new addition to the studio.
What is Shibari?
In Japanese, “Shibari” simply means “to tie”. The contemporary meaning of Shibari describes an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope bondage. The origin of Shibari comes from Hojo-Jutsu, the martial art of restraining captives.
Shibari is now used in modern culture for both sex and art, both together or separate. For Boudoir Session purposes, it’s an intricate and interesting way to accent the body and portray a sense of vulnerability and submission. The results are quite breathtaking.
One of our repeat clients actually suggested it and asked if we could do it for her shoot. We were totally on board with the idea, not knowing how freaking amazing it would look in the photos! It does take a little bit of time “rigging” the rope and making sure it looks and fits right, but the end results are worth the extra steps.
We have black rope and white rope at the studio, the colors you see below she brought herself, another added touch of personalization.
Shibari can be done solo, or during a couples session. Because of the extra time and skill involved in these delicate rope patterns, we do ask for significant advanced notice if you are wanting to add this Bonus to your shoot.
This is definitely another unique bonus set to add to your Boudoir Session!
