Meet Danialle.
Danialle books a shoot at UNVEILED every year. Not as a gift, but as an investment in herself.
“When you do a shoot with Sam, the high lasts 3–6 months. You’re like, ‘YES, GIRL’ through the aisle at the grocery store like it’s a runway. I love that feeling. So, this is part of my self care. The photos are 1000% the way I stay on top of this cloud.”
Danialle looks at her photos year-round, especially when she gets in a rut, which is easy to do when raising a daughter, holding down a full-time successful career as a corporate event planner, and living life as a human being.
“I’ll open my album and be like, ‘Mama’s still got it.’”
She looks at them when she needs a mood boost, or when she wants to live out her fantasy of being a real-life professional model.
And she doesn’t keep the photos to herself, either. She posts her photos to Facebook or Instagram from time to time, to inspire other women to embrace their bodies and book a shoot.
One year she made coffee mugs and gave them to her friends as Christmas gifts.
“My best friend drinks out of her coffee mug every morning. I come over sometimes and her husband’s having coffee out of it.”
I’ll open my album and be like, ‘Mama’s still got it.’
What She Said
My style
Bikinis, bodysuits, anything I’m not “supposed” to wear. It makes me laugh when an older person looks at me like I shouldn’t be wearing something.
Favorite outfit (so far)
We had the most fun with the black mesh bodysuit from Forever 21+. We were on crotchwatch. Every time I had to put my hands above my head for a pose I was like, “How the shit do people wear these?”
Biggest challenge
My own brain. You can tell yourself a million reasons why you shouldn’t do it, and that’s coming from shame, or guilt, or other people not understanding why you need it. None of that is coming from a positive place. You have to overcome those doubts to get the most out of a shoot.
Proudest moment
Inspiring others to book a shoot.
Inspiration
Sunkissed, dark haired goddesses. I love Ashley Graham. She’s goals as hell.
Biggest piece of advice
Try to focus on how you’re going to feel afterwards, and be adventurous. If there’s something you’ve always wanted to wear, just try it. If it doesn’t work, she’ll let you change.
