Real Boudoir Shoots

From Behind-the-Scenes to in Front of the Camera

A short interview with one of our own! Get to know more about Mollee's UNVEILED experience!

For those of you who may not know me, I’m Mollee and I’ve been working at UNVEILED for 2 years now. I’ve now been in 2 different studios with Sam and it’s been so amazing to watch this business grow and thrive and to meet so many of you all! It’s been a blessing in so many ways, and one of the best parts is that I recently got to do my very own shoot! 🤩

I was lucky enough to be one of the first ladies photographed in our new, custom-designed studio in downtown Bloomington and to say it was a blast would be an understatement. The sets are bigger and better and the atmosphere is on a whole new level. It’s truly amazing to be here every day and planning my shoot was the cherry on top. Read on to hear all about my shoot day experience!

What inspired you to do the shoot?

I’ve been working at UNVEILED for 2 years now and always knew I wanted to do a shoot. But honestly, it took me a while to actually decide to do one for a few reasons. One, I was afraid I wouldn’t live up to the hype. I see beautiful women come through the studio day in and day out and I’ve always loved everyone’s photos. And I was worried mine wouldn’t turn out that great because I was still pretty insecure about myself and my body and thought that I was somehow different from all the women we’ve photographed before. And two, I had SO MANY ideas that it took me a while to narrow it all down. Again, because I work here, I see all kinds of outfits and inspo and I had about a million different ideas before I settled on any of my final looks. That’s also one of the great parts about our new virtual wardrobe consults – Sam talks through all your options and helps narrow it down for you! That really helped me feel good about my final decisions and ready to actually do the shoot. So it took me a few years, but I’m so thankful I did my shoot when I did, and got to be one of the first people to fully experience the new studio!

What were you most afraid of?

I was afraid I wouldn’t feel beautiful. I had gained some weight during COVID (I mean, who didn’t, right?) and I was afraid I’d feel really fat and not worthy of the shoot or the final images. I was wrong, of course. Because it truly doesn’t matter what shape or size or age you are here – Sam helps you see the true beauty inside and outside of yourself and highlights all of who YOU are so well

What surprised you?

I think I was most surprised by how much I truly loved every photo. There were sets and outfits I liked more than others, but there wasn’t a picture I disliked at all. I felt beautiful in every single one, I felt sexy and confident, and I truly felt like an UNVEILED girl by the end.

What was your fave part?

My favorite part was probably the reveal. It was so amazing to see all of the photos in their finished state and to be able to watch them on screen like I was a movie star or something. Every successive photo was better than the last and I was literally fangirling over myself by the end. It was amazing. 😍

Fave outfit/set?

My favorite outfit was the blue bodysuit I think, because it showed off the parts of my body that I really used to hate and be insecure about. I’ve always had really wide hips and a bigger butt and I never liked them. I’d do everything I could to hide them, like wearing long sweaters or cardigans I could pull down over them. I’ve never looked like any of my friends and I always hated that. But seeing myself in that outfit, hips and butt on full display, and still feeling sexy and looking confident really helped me love and appreciate my body in a new way. And then my favorite set was probably the new railing upstairs – it truly makes you feel like you’re on top of the world and like you can conquer anything.

Fave product?

Probably the Wall Arts. The Albums are absolutely amazing and beautiful too, but I really love the idea of the Wall Art and that they document you as art – not just a person taking photos in lingerie, but as a muse, something to be looked at and admired for its creativity and beauty. I’m definitely getting a Wall Art for my bathroom – I can’t resist!!
